Happy New Year!

In the waning days of 2005 I had the pleasure of meeting up with Dan Zanes. We recorded a song for his upcoming album, "Catch That Train" to be released in April 2006 on his label, Festival Five Records. We did the traditional Scottish folk tune, "loch Lomond".

You may remember Dan from his days with The Del Fuegos, but he has since reincarnated as the most delightful singer/songwriter and performer of children's music (or family music) in America today. Dan frequently invites other singers and musicians to join him in the studio and this album will also feature a duet with Lou Reed and a collaboration with The Kronos Quartet. Mr. Zanes also released one of my favorite folk albums of last year, "Parades and Panoramas", a selection of songs from the indispensable treasury of American folk music collected by the poet Carl Sandburg in 1927 called, "The American Songbag".

Take Care,

Natalie
